i have been itching to write a post for more than a month... but ya you can call me a darned lazy guy .. but i have been between things and could not actually put across many events...
Let me start with one of the most significant event that happened recently... the sunfeast 10k run.. yes maadi.. i ran... i ran 10 km in staggering 1 hour 10 min.. (yes muddu.. it is 1 hr 7 min... but i just dont want to boast abt me :P) seems ordinary for an athlete ... ain't it??.. but i am no athlete.. and to complete it in that time is phenomenal..at least for me. This was my second sunfeast run.. the first was the majja run that i participated last year .. where i had run for 5.7 Km in 33 min... ( even that's not bad).... So this time when the ad came up.. i decided that i will run the whole 10kms... and damn i did it...An event which has had more than 15000 registrations and above 5000 people registered for the open 10k run had to have some colors and some panache...and so did it... Kingfisher and Sunfeast's synergy resulted in an event that had fun, fervor and fully charged running. The best part of the run was that civilians( ya i am talking about those babes.. :P) who were in and around the race cheered for everybody... who was running...And one more thing that caught our attention was the old lady who completed 10k few minutes after us who must be easily 60 yeasrs old.. Holy cow.. she was fitter than many of my age..ore even me...!!!... As usual the coordination and organisation of the vent was exemplary... refreshment stalls at every 500m ( i mean water and glucose.. not burgers and pani puris... :) ), medical camps at every other km.. and cheer girls... to cheer... To complete a race.. we needed inspiration and we got our inspiration by targeting two ladies... who were constantly trying to better us.. finally we did finsih at a better time than them.. but they gave some tough time over there... At the end of the run we got to know that 10k run was not much abt the physical fitness... but more about the mental toughness that you have to show...
One thing that annoyed me and muddu was that contrary to the last year, many people did not get their pictures uploaded on the marathonphotos.com... murali was at his slowest best and thus got captured 5 times...( he complains of a sprain at 6 km... and had to do a 4k walk to complete... the run.. :P) and goddamn we who completed the race at an avg speed of more than 9.5 kmph... did not even get a pic to show people that we came... we saw.. and we conquered...
and this was the day we ran with bengalooru...
