Avatar… at last …

Yes it is 2 am in the morning and i am writing this blog to tell u all how amazed i am after seeing the first 3D movie in my life.

I was awestruck by the new world created by James Cameroon’s in Avatar. The movie was not a very great movie as far as the story is concerned, but the direction was exemplary. The hanging mountains, the flying birds, the hounds, the mystical flora and fauna was all like a beautiful painting coming into life before you. I was most impressed by the colours that filled the screen.

The movie had its share of lighter moments and the action sequences were brilliant too. The 3D effects had let me down though. (I was more enthralled by the 3D ad of the upcoming movie, the Sea monsters.)

Avatar aside, windows live writer is really coming handy. More blogs from my side to bore you people then….

Good night…Ciao

How Hashim amla made a big impression on me.. :)

Hashim amla, without any doubt was the best player in the series including the tests and the one days. His perseverance was unparalleled, his technique unmatched. This was the first time I saw some foreign player play with such authority on the subcontinent soil.

His 253 in the first test was a master piece. I could see another rahul dravid in him. Few of my iit friends would call him the maggu, the 9 pointer types. I wonder if there is any other player who has won all the man of the match awards in a test series including the man of the series.

Like any other Indian fan, i just despised his patience, and was watching when he would throw his wicket away in each innings.

Anyway, it is not the stupendous effort he put in scoring 500 odd runs in the test series that made a big impression on me. It was that trivial thing, that no-attention-effort that made him a hero for me.

Yes, all who know about me, know what i am talking about. That dive, that extra effort that he put to save the boundary of a savage hit from Kaptaan saab Dhoni, which brought Sachin on strike and the rest is history as everybody knows…

What was on the back  of Dhoni’s mind is still an enigma to me. Two straight overs where he took a single of the last delivery made me so burn with anger that i felt somebody would have killed him if sachin da could not have completed his 200.

Keeping apart Dhoni’s inane actions, i feel every sachin fan would have the same feelings as me for the great Hashim amla.

Sachin pa and Hashim amla…

Jahapanaon tussi great ho…
